French national, Nicolas Payen has 15 years of experience in both engineering and marketing/commercial leadership roles. His deep-tech journey started in 2008 as the co-founder of a start-up named Efficient Home looking after the emerging market of the Smart Homes / Smart Grid for Schneider-Electric. In 2012 he released the connected residential energy management system named WISER. This connected solution was then deployed in the largest French Smart Grid pilot.
In 2013, he moved to Hong-Kong to head the Smart Space Category for the Asia Pacific and to lead the deployment of a channel partner program for the building technology’s system integrators of Schneider Electric. In March 2016, he became the Global Head of Internet of Things for MANN+HUMMEL, where he lead an Innovation Lab and a Global Competency Centre on smart devices, digital services, big data, and AR/VR. In April 2017, Nicolas created the Future Economy Studio – a digital ventures building company in Singapore. Positive Energy.Community Venture was incubated at the same Studio in Singapore.
Chief Financial Officer / Project Finance
Vincent Bakker is a Dutch national with 10 years of experience in complex energy investments. He has been on all sides of projects (acquisitions, divestments and organic growth projects), in all phases (from identification and screening, to operate, to decommissioning) in a variety of roles. He has negotiated with commercial parties as well as governments, set up financial systems within joint ventures and did due diligence and deal structuring. His result orientated and fit for purpose approach is supported by strong analytical and modelling skills.
Vincent has a MSc. in Financial Engineering & Management and is accredited Chartered Global Management Accountant. He has moved to Singapore in 2014 and worked for projects in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Kazakhstan.
Business Consultant – Legal
Jinn Lim is a corporate lawyer with 20 years’ experience, more than half of which have been spent working in the Energy sector working on large-scale oil, gas and commodities projects at BP and Gunvor (Big 5 Oil Trader), with a stint at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) in between. She has extensive experience in long-term sale and purchase projects, one of which was valued at USD100bn, project finance, investments in terminals and refineries, including projects valued at USD10bn, structured trade finance, listings, tenders, disputes, criminal prosecutions, regulatory and sanctions investigations, compliance and risk management.
In the early years of her career, Jinn cut her teeth on corporate finance projects in leading law firms, before joining the mergers and acquisitions department of Allianz Insurance Management where she negotiated acquisitions and strategic alliances with banks and insurers across Asia in the wake of the Asian Financial Crisis.
Jinn is currently a Director at Positive Energy.Community Pte Ltd.

Vice President – India
Rishi Nair has been a consultant in Renewable Energy space for 3 years in India. His previous experiences at Sun Capital and Artha Energy Resources have moulded him into becoming the renewable energy professional he is today. At these firms, Rishi was responsible for providing advisory services, business development, research, preparing technical and financial models and creating in house databases involving various wind, solar and hydro-electric projects across India. He has liaised with various CEOs and business owners in the renewable energy space by providing appropriate advice regarding their renewable energy portfolios. Rishi was also involved in private equity deals that were in the manufacturing and chemicals industry.
Through these experiences Rishi has built up a solid understanding of the renewable energy finance space; understanding the industry trends and outlook through his extensive research over the past 3 years in the industry in India.
Rishi has a well-rounded background with a BS in Energy Engineering major and Energy, Business Finance minor from Pennsylvania State University.
Duc Hoang Nguyen
Vice President – Vietnam
Duc Hoang has 6 years of working experience in the Vietnam investment industry. His interest in infrastructure funding (energy, infrastructure, telecommunications) and startups investment had been brewed at the time he was at Viettel Group, the largest telecommunications and industrial group of Vietnam, where he oversaw: i/ Group’s investments and M&A activities in Vietnam and overseas; ii/ the Group’s efforts expanding into start-up venture space. Also during this time, due to the nature of Viettel as a State-owned-Enterprise, Duc Hoang greatly has exposed himself to the Nation’s economic policies, financial management, and investment regulations. Prior to Viettel, Duc Hoang worked as an M&A consultant at PwC, focusing on financial due diligence, where he engaged in numerous incoming M&As to Vietnam and has gained a solid foundation on accounting and post-deal integrations. In addition to professional knowledge and skills, he is a blended of East and West, as he had lived 9 years in the UK since he was 13. He is also an open-minded and resulted-oriented individual, who strongly believes technology has no limitation. Duc Hoang’s majors were in Economics, Public Policy, and Finance.
